"WE HELP DEVELOP THE CHAMPIONS OF TOMORROW, TODAY"
HONG KONG, CHINA'S FIRST PROFESSIONAL GPTCA ACCREDITED TENNIS ACADEMY
Accredited training programmes in place to help players become professionals
OUR ACADEMY
Our academy has coached many of Hong Kong's leading national-level juniors and aspires to keep developing juniors into better players, athletes and people. We are aware that as coaches, we play an integral role in a player’s development and life. We are therefore dedicated and willing to have a positive and everlasting impact on every single player who trains at Morlotti Academy. With this responsibility, we have split our Academy sessions into three main programmes:
INTERMEDIATE
BEGINNER
HIGH PERFORMANCE
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our Academy's philosophy above all else is to inspire and have an impact on every single person that we coach at the Academy.

It is our role to primarily understand and relate to each of our players in order for our coaches to help them achieve their highest potential. We live breathe and coach high-performance habits, always striving to be the best we can be as coaches. Pure and honest our coaches follow a professional excellence mindset and methodology. Professional Excellence to us means focusing on the day to day task and giving your best effort and full attention to each singular task. Focusing on each singular task and exercise and succeeding at each task will subsequently lead to improvement and results rather than focusing on the end goal.
We are process driven allowing for our players to develop a growth mindset in order to reach their highest potential both on and off the court.
COACHES BLUEPRINT
In order for our coaches to inspire and have an impact on every single one of our players we have put a blue-print in place. Our coaches meet on a weekly basis with our Director in order to be continuously working on ourselves as individuals and be in sync as a team.
Scientific - We believe that although tennis coaching has been very focused on feel, personal opinions and varying coaching styles in the past, the future is looking more data and science driven. To perform at the highest level as coaches we instil this scientific approach in our lessons by recording and analysing our players consistently.
Artistic - To complement and not necessarily contrast the the scientific side of the game we believe that all our coaches have to implement an artistic side to their coaching. To us coaching is an Art. As a coach your role is to be able to relate to everyone you coach. We actually prefer to have open minded coaches. An artistic approach allows for our coaches to be able to identify the best way to deliver a message to that specific person.
Energetic - We believe that energy is everything! If you are not passionate about coaching or helping people better themselves then coaching is not for you! Our goal as an Academy is to maximise every player’s potential and we strongly believe that we are only able to achieve that if we have coaches that have energy, passion and are able to support and motivate everyone they coach.
Knowledgable - Tennis is a complex sport. Our job is to simplify the sport and develop the best players we possibly can. Tennis is technical, tactical, mental and physical. It is our role to be able to coach payers to be the best technical, tactical, mental and physical versions they can be whilst also transmitting important life values such as being able to work hard and persist through tougher times.

We believe it’s fundamental to set out a blue print and have our players follow important values that we believe will pave the path for them to become better tennis players and people. In order to have success at our Academy and any future endeavour we narrowed our player profile to the above four character traits. Being respectful, passionate, hard working and open minded.

Respectful: Although we have narrowed down four main traits we look for in our players, we believe this to be the most important. We value the person we coach and simple actions such as being polite, supportive of other players and coaches, being respectful after losses and showing fair play, to us shows we have developed not only a great tennis player but a great person. As coaches being part of someone’s development means transmitting the right values and also being role models. Our coaches are all expected to show the utmost respect to all the players we train and we are very happy when we see this behaviour reciprocated by our players!
Passionate: We believe success and passion go hand in hand. In order to become successful at any given task or discipline one must work endlessly and meticulously for a sustained amount of time, and if someone is not truly passionate about what they do they simply will not put in the amount of time and effort needed to become great. When we see our players smiling on the court, sweating and working hard or fist pumping and roaring after winning an important point we know we are on the right path, because if you’re not truly passionate about what you do why do it at all?
Hard-working: Our view on hard work is simplified by a famous quote that goes “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard”
Open minded: Being open minded to us means being accepting of criticism and other people’s opinions, stances or vision. How our players accept constructive criticism by our coaches can be a big determining factor on their growth as a player. Open minded players are good listeners and are able to accept comments from various angles. Being this flexible and able to absorb information and come to conclusions or action plans to move forward helps our players immensely in match situations. When scenarios change, conditions change, locations change or opponents game plans change our players have to be able to navigate through these changes and find ways to win. Open minded players are able to navigate through change. This also closely links to the importance we stress on having a growth mindset where our players are not scared of limitations rather focus on what they have to practically do in order to achieve tasks that then ultimately translates into achieving their goals.
